About this trip

A different kind of trip from our boat charters — a day session at a man-made fishing pond in Perak stocked with an unusual mix of large exotic freshwater species not found in local wild waters, including arapaima, alligator gar, Mekong catfish, chao phraya catfish, amazon and Asian redtail catfish, pacu, sultan fish (mad barb), wallago, and giant snakehead. Great for anglers who want a shot at species they'd otherwise never encounter in Malaysia. Rate is RM350 per pax, inclusive of gear, guide, drinking water, and canned drinks.

This trip is a departure from our river, sea, and lake charters — instead of a boat, this is a day of fishing at a stocked, man-made pond in Perak built specifically to give anglers a shot at large exotic species that don't naturally occur in Malaysian waters.

The pond is stocked with a genuinely unusual species list, including arapaima, alligator gar, giant Mekong catfish, chao phraya catfish, amazon redtail catfish, Asian redtail catfish, pacu, sultan fish (also known as mad barb), wallago, and giant snakehead, among others. Many of these fish grow to serious sizes, and the appeal is largely the novelty and raw pulling power of species anglers won't find in local rivers, lakes, or the sea.

Both bait and lure fishing are generally productive here, and it's a good option for anglers of any experience level, including those newer to fishing, since gear and guiding are provided.

The RM350 per pax rate includes fishing gear, a guide, drinking water, and canned drinks, so anglers can turn up without needing to bring their own equipment.
